ABOUT ME

My name is Maya McGowan and I am an actor and singer based in Los Angeles, CA. I graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Theatre and am currently studying at the Nancy Banks Studio.

Throughout my career, I have been inspired by women who are fearless and unapologetic in their work. That said, the projects that excite me the most feature characters who embody these qualities. Outside of performing, I love boxing, playing piano, making wine, and exploring the world.

Most recently, I was seen in a new musical “Ink & Paint” featured in the SheLA Arts Festival where I played Gyo Fujikawa and was awarded Best Supporting Actress for my performance. Other favorites include East West Player’s production of “Assassins” where I had the opportunity to Understudy for Sara Jane Moore alongside the incomparable Joan Almedilla.

I would like to thank my family, friends, and mentors for their support and guidance. Their support means the world to me and encourages me to continue to pursue my dreams.
