SHATTERED DOLLS

Starting in October of 2019, I began a journey of exploration for my Senior Honors Project. After five months of research, I am proud to say I devised my own performance entitled “Shattered Dolls: An Examination of Authorship and the Boundaries of Female Asian Stereotypes in Theatrical Literature and Film.” In this presentation, I present five stereotypes and use examples of female Asian characters in literature like The King and I, Madama Butterfly, Flower Drum Song, and more to examine its implications.
